Sinsick

The ethicist Stanley Hauerwas on sin:

"Indeed in our time the discovery that we are sick is often the nearest analogy we have for understanding what it means to discover and confess that we are sinners. Alcoholics discover they are possessed by a power they do not remember choosing but for which they must take responsibility if they are to stand any chance of being free from that possession."
